Unfade — Privacy Policy
Effective August 7, 2026
Unfade restores old photographs. This policy explains what we collect and why, in plain language.
What we collect
- Your email address — to create your account and sign you in.
- Photos you choose to upload — solely to restore them. Uploading is always user-initiated.
- Optional reference photos — if you use Identity Lock, to keep faces true during restoration. You can delete them at any time, which removes the image and derived face data immediately.
- Purchase history — processed by Apple/Google and RevenueCat to manage your subscription. We never see your card details.
- Basic usage analytics and crash reports — to fix bugs and improve the app.
How photos are handled
- Photos are encrypted in transit and stored privately; only you can access them.
- Location metadata (GPS) is stripped from photos at upload.
- To restore a photo, it is processed by our AI service providers (Anthropic and Replicate) under their data protection terms. They do not use your photos to train models.
- Original uploads are automatically deleted after 30 days; working previews after 7 days.
- Some features (merging two photos, extending a scene) create AI-generated images. These are marked as AI-generated in their metadata.
Your rights
- Delete any photo, reference, or your entire account and data from within the app — deletion is immediate and permanent.
- Export your restored photos at any time.
- Contact us about your data: admin@unfadeapp.com.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data or your photos. Ever.
- We don't show ads.
- We don't use your photos for anything except the restorations you ask for.
Unfade · This policy will be updated as the service evolves; material changes will be announced in the app.
